Christmassy Stuffs
So, it is shaping up to be a good Christmas. Both my parents are in town, my grandparents are coming in tonight, all my siblings are here, and if everyone can continue to act like human beings, it will be a good Christmas. Also have friends here who want to get together while I am here, mostly people I haven't seen in years, and I can't wait. Family, friends, and great food - it is all working this year. The kids are thrilled to see everyone, and they will make out like bandits, as usual. If I can get this property/house thing straightened out, life will rock totally.

This weeks updates
FOR TODAY
September 21, 2009
Outside my window...
Finally sunshine and nice temperatures.
I am thinking...
About what to cook today.
I am thankful for...
Getting to see lots of people this month.
From the learning rooms...
How to make my bread machine obey my whims.
From the kitchen...
Lots of good stuff with harvest vegetables.
I am wearing...
Hubby's t-shirt and pt shorts.
I am creating...
Recipes for simple, good, cheap foods.
I am going...
To Fayettenam for hubby's job stuff, and then to DC!!!
I am reading...
Celia Rivenbark and Phillipa Gregory
I am hoping...
That Brett gets on the payroll for his new job ASAP.
I am hearing...
Max and Ruby.
Around the house...
Fishtank leaked on the curtain, carpet, and dresser it was on. Even though I had a thick, rubber-backed throw rug under the tank, it leaked so badly the dresser is ruined.
One of my favorite things...
Sleeping in and then getting up without hitting the ground running (ie, hubby has taken care of breakfast and diapers and so forth)A few plans for the rest of the week:
Fold laundry, pack for Fayettenam. Leave for Fayettenam on Monday.

Stolen from Mer...
I haven't posted in a bit, for lack of time mostly, but due to a format I just stole from a friends blog, I am back, at least once a week. Maybe more, depending on what fodder my kids produce for me when the hubby heads back to the land of milk and honey.
Here is the guaranteed once-a-week format:

FOR TODAY
September 21, 2009
Outside my window...
Rain. Rain. Rain again. Flooding. Rain predicted for at least another week. I just want sun and fall leaves.
I am thinking...
About how to juggle the hubby leaving, how to get to MD to see a friend I haven't seen in 4 yrs, taking the kids camping before he leaves (don'tt even know when that is yet), getting the girls in school, getting our weight tickets from this move.
I am thankful for...
Healthy wee ones, a good hubby, and supportive family (blood and chosen).
From the learning rooms...
Organic gardening, fixing my own car, and building things
From the kitchen...
A variety of foods that will be unavailble to the hubby when he leaves.
I am wearing...
Black lace-trimmed tank top, black capris w/ wine-colored ribbon trimmings, gunmetal hoops, and black velvet Mary Janes.
I am creating...
Nothing at the moment. Saving projects for after the hubby leaves.
I am going...
To fayettenam for hubby's job stuff, and then to DC!!!
I am reading...
Susan Reinhart and Phillipa Gregory
I am hoping...
That the next month goes smoothly and that the preschool will work out the stupid, self-created issues they seem to be having with getting her started.
I am hearing...
Random food network shows the hubby is watching.
Around the house...
Need to clean. Desperately. Yesterday, really.
One of my favorite things...
Being alone in the car so I can blast the music without worrying about wee ear drums.A few plans for the rest of the week:
Clean house. Shower a couple of times. Take the kids to various fun stuff that ATL offers.
There it is. Like I said, will try to start posting more, but at least it is a start.

Here is a link to a quick form to fill out:
http://www.congress.org/congressorg/issues/alert/?alertid=12389726&content_dir=ua_congressorg
This would also ban yardsale-ing used clothes, mothers of multiples sales, etc.
After some digging, I found that this was being lobbied for by several big-name children's clothing manufacturers. Anyone suprised?
